February 01 20152015-02-01A photograph inside a dim, unfinished hall with bare concrete block walls and overhead lights. In the centre, a man in a rust-orange dhoti and matching shawl wears a long red flower garland with gold-toned beads and a gold-studded belt, and he extends one hand over a large silver ceremonial object lying on an orange cloth, its carved heads and ornate silver panels arranged on the floor. To the left, a woman in a yellow and maroon sari stands with hands raised, beside a man in white dhoti with a rudraksha mala and a man in orange robes. Behind them, a woman in maroon sari stands near a floor rug and a standing fan, and at the right several people in white kurtas and orange lanyards watch. Brass vessels stand near the left edge. The man in orange with the red garland shows cues such as the flower garland and ornate gold-toned belt, but appearance alone is not sufficient to confirm identity, so he is described by role only.2013-09-04July 13 20132013-07-13 +1 copiesA photograph of a silver deity murti lying on a black cloth on the ground beneath a corrugated metal shelter. Two young men in rust-orange dhoti and shawl garments with dark rudraksha malas stand behind it looking down, one holding a small object in his hand. Behind them, several people in white and orange-red lanyard-style scarves watch, and a garland of flowers hangs on a pole at right. A plastic chair sits at left.2013-07-14Inside a large workshop with a corrugated roof and red steel trusses, two saffron-robed men stand at a display of brass and gold ritual items. Beside him an older white-bearded man in an orange shawl stands barefoot, hand raised to his chin. Behind them, workers in white shirts and dhotis move among ornate gold arches, brass lamp stands, tiered brass platforms and a golden swan-shaped throne. On a striped mat in the foreground lie small brass and wooden deity murti, lamps, bowls and conch shells.2015-04-28August 06 20142014-08-06Photograph taken at night of a ritual scene on an orange cloth spread on a paved floor.
