A woman on the left wears a yellow and red patterned sari with a white hairnet and stands beside sacks of produce. A man in an orange lungi and red top bends over a large steel pot, stirring with a ladle. Other workers in maroon, white and green shirts move around a steel cooking range. A woman in an orange top with a beaded necklace wears a white hairnet and clear plastic gloves and serves cooked rice from a steel tray into a plate. Beside her, another volunteer in a white hairnet and gloves works at the same counter. Steel bowls of food sit on the counter, and a clear plastic sneeze guard shields the food. On the right, a person in orange robes stands holding a steel plate, and other people in orange and yellow clothing are partly visible behind the counter. Wire mesh fencing and greenery lie beyond the hall.August 17 20142014-08-17 +2 copiesNovember 06 20082008-11-06Annadhan in 20142014-01-01 +1 copiesNight photo of a large covered food hall where a long queue of men and some women line up at a steel serving counter for a free meal. Servers in white caps and hairnets, with white aprons, ladle food from steel trays under a glass sneeze guard into steel plates and bowls held by devotees. Strings of multicoloured fairy lights and bright ceiling lamps light the open-sided hall, with a metal railing guiding the line on the left. Most people wear white dhotis, shirts, or sarees in pastel tones, and some have shaved heads and white garments. This appears to be an annadan or prasadam meal service.A busy kitchen during meal preparation for an annadan kitchen service. In the foreground a woman in an orange-and-yellow patterned sari and white hair net stands at a steel tray heaped with chopped orange carrots. Behind her, a woman in a pink top and white hair net holds a yellow checked cloth beside a wooden glass-fronted cabinet. Shelves hold green leafy vegetables and green mangoes. Other workers in dark maroon and orange clothing move in the background among steel pots and trays.2024-01-25Annadhan in 20122012-01-01 +2 copiesAugust 17 20142014-08-17 +2 copies
