Photograph of a large outdoor ceremony beneath a canopy of orange, yellow and red patterned cloth with red fringed drapes. Rows of saffron-robed sannyasis and devotees sit on dark patterned carpets, many wearing orange and red garments and flower garlands. In the centre foreground a seated man in a red-brown robe and red turban holds a small object, and a monk in orange with an orange head wrap sits with a lit candle or lamp. Standing attendants in white and orange hold tall ceremonial staffs and orange parasols along the right side, and a crowd of onlookers in white and orange gathers behind. A trident-topped staff rises at the left, and orange flags fly behind. Men in white and cream dhotis and kurtas and a woman in a blue sari walk among the crowd.2008-12-27February 12 20132013-02-12 +3 copiesA seated figure in a rust-red headwrap, orange-gold robe and heavy gold necklaces sits on a red and blue patterned carpet under an orange and yellow canopy. Attendants in white dhotis with gold borders and beaded necklaces stand around, one holding a tall ceremonial staff, another holding an orange umbrella overhead, and one kneeling in front with an open book.
