The deity figure has white skin, many arms holding a trident, a flaming bowl, a snake, a bow and other implements, and wears a red-orange shawl, blue-grey dhoti, rudraksha beads and a gold necklace. The dark brown background is dotted with small white stars. The painting is a graphic reproduction of a deity murti, not a physical gathering.2011-02-26A painted devotional illustration of a multi-armed, multi-headed deity form standing at centre, with blue skin, a jewelled crown, garlands of white and red flowers, and a large golden ornate necklace. Many heads surround the figure, including faces with crowns and an elephant-headed face, and the arms hold weapons, a lotus and other objects. Below, a small blue-skinned child figure in yellow dhoti stands with hands joined, and a kneeling figure in white and red robes faces upward beside a golden chariot pulled by horses, with an armed army and elephants in the background under a bright sky. This is a graphic illustration rather than a photograph, with no physical people present.2021-08-30A grayscale painted illustration in an old printed style showing a seated teaching scene in a mountain setting. Two central figures sit cross-legged on a mat, one with a long beard and bare upper body wearing a sacred thread, the other seated beside him with a necklace. A ring of seated disciples in turbans and draped garments surrounds them, and a shaft of light descends from above toward the bearded teacher. Rows of listeners with their backs to the viewer sit in the foreground beside pots. In the upper left a multi-armed deity figure sits on a throne under a halo-like arch, and at lower right a four-armed figure holding a lamp and an object sits on a mat with a halo. The sky has concentric arcs and rolling mountains behind.A wall covered in painted narrative panels on a bright red ground, arranged in horizontal bands. Panels show royal figures seated on thrones and gilded pavilions, a rider on a caparisoned elephant, horse-drawn chariots with charioteers and archers, and attendants with weapons. Several deity figures sit in gold-framed shrine niches. Faded red paint and small pictorial cartouches give it a temple-mural look. No physical people are visible; all figures are painted.2012-05-29A painted illustration in a vintage devotional style shows a seated Shiva figure with matted hair, a crescent on the head, a trident beside him, and a serpent around the neck, seated on a stylised white-tipped wave or cloud. Before him stands a figure in orange-yellow garments with a bright halo or sun disc behind the head, raising one hand in greeting or reverence. The background is a pale blue-green sky with a horizon line and distant hills. The page excerpt on the lineage of Surya suggests this depicts the Sun God, but the figure is shown as an illustration rather than a photograph.A painted mural on a temple wall depicting Vishnu reclining on the coiled serpent Adishesha with a multi-hooded cobra canopy, holding a conch and chakra, adorned with gold jewellery and a blue complexion, with Lakshmi seated beside him in red and gold sari. Above, a small four-faced Brahma sits on a lotus stem rising from Vishnu's navel, and a small figure appears at right over blue water. Dark stone inscription panels in Tamil script run along the top of the wall, and a painted donor panel sits below. This is a deity mural, not a living person.2008-07-29 +1 copiesA framed painting in a palace room shows Lord Vishnu reclining on the serpent Adishesha, his body in gold and blue against a deep blue sea.
