A bearded elder in orange robes and a large white and red flower garland stands centre, holding a long wooden staff. Men on either side wear rudraksha malas and carry tall staffs topped with a trident and ornate finials. Two ceremonial yellow-and-red umbrellas with a decorative emblem hang above the procession. Several people behind wear orange and brown robes. The bearded central figure is a sannyasi in a procession; appearance alone does not establish identity.2013-11-05Kailasa Paramparagatha Atal Peetham +1 copiesNovember 05 20132013-11-05November 05 20132013-11-05November 05 20132013-11-05A procession outdoors in front of a building with a red-painted wall and palm fronds at upper right. In the centre, a long-bearded elderly man with white hair wears an orange saffron robe and holds a wooden staff with a serpent-like carved top; he appears to be a sannyasi in ascetic dress. Around him, shaved-headed men in rust-red dhotis and wrap garments wear long rudraksha mala garlands and hold tall poles with flowers, and a woman in a red sari with gold border stands at left. A woman at right in a gold-bordered saffron sari and a shaved-headed devotee in red and gold robes gesture while talking. The orange-robed elder is shown in a procession setting with people in matching red ritual attire, consistent with a temple or ashram ceremony.2013-11-05May 08 20122012-05-08May 24 20122012-05-24 +1 copiesOutdoor photo of a welcoming exchange among saffron-robed sannyasis. Center left, an elderly bearded man with long white hair and a red forehead mark wears an orange shawl over a garland of white and red flowers and holds a silver-capped staff with a carved snake. Facing him at right, a younger man with swept-back hair and a gold-bordered orange dhoti and shawl, wearing a rudraksha mala and gold necklace, clasps his hands. Behind them, orange-clad devotees with rudraksha malas stand in a row, one holding a trident and another a yellow-and-red decorated banner, with a red wall and trees in the background.2013-11-05Outdoor photograph of a group of saffron- and orange-robed sannyasis gathered on a paved courtyard beneath palm trees. A long-bearded elderly man in a bright orange robe holds a tall wooden staff with a carved snake wrapped around it and gazes upward, while a man in an orange-gold dhoti and rudraksha mala gestures toward him. Around them stand shaved-headed men in saffron and rust-red cloths wearing rudraksha malas, some with hands folded in prayer, and several women in red and maroon saris in the background. A tall metal staff topped with a decorative canopy rises beside them, and a green-roofed structure, flowers and a yellow-and-red banner appear at the edges.2013-11-05
