Sacred Arts UnivercitySacred Arts UnivercityA photograph of a dry, rocky hillside with a bare grey rock face sloping up on the right and a dusty dirt track running up the centre foreground. Scattered loose stones, reddish earth, dry grass and shrubs cover the slopes, and a tree with bare branches stands at the left edge under a pale sky. No people or ritual activity are visible; the scene is an empty rural landscape.2000 - Acharapakkam (Nadu Pazhani)A rain-slicked rock cave entrance framed by dark wet stone and clumps of grass on the ledges above. Several people in saffron and orange robes stand at the dark opening, a shaved-headed monk in orange on the right with hands together, a woman in an orange sari beside him, and a figure in red robes. Two men in white and brown shirts stand to the left, and a cameraman in a maroon shirt crouches in the foreground on green moss filming the group. The scene suggests a pilgrimage visit to a cave shrine.A photograph of a group of men standing on mossy ground at the mouth of a dark cave cut into rough grey rock, with grass growing above the entrance. Six men are visible: at left a man in a red robe and a man in white dhoti with a shawl; in the centre a man in a brown shirt; and at right a bare-headed man in orange cloth with a long dark ponytail, a shaven-headed man in orange robes, and a man in a white wrap with bare shoulders. They appear to be looking into the cave opening. Tyre tracks and scattered loose rocks lie in the mud and gravel in the foreground. Piles of broken concrete and stone rubble sit along the far rim, with a row of short white marker posts and a lone tree on the right. Pale sky, a few distant buildings and a low white structure at the left edge complete the scene. No people are visible.2008-05-14A narrow rock cleft with a dark cave opening sits between two grey stone walls, with grass growing along the top edge. Six people stand on a grassy floor facing the opening. Several wear saffron-orange or red robes, and others wear white dhotis or white shirts. Two figures on the centre-left raise their arms and point upward toward the rock face, while a shaved-headed man in orange and a man in white stand nearby.July 09 20092009-07-09A steep, eroded hillside on a mountain road in the Himalayas, shown from above. Bare, pale brown soil and loose rock slope down toward a dense mass of boulders and gravel at the bottom. Dark green shrubs and trees cover the upper and right edges of the slope. A narrow dirt track cuts across the middle of the slope, with a few small figures or vehicles barely visible along the upper road at left. A faint purple blurred shape sits in the upper left corner.2005-05-25 +1 copiesA photograph of an excavated pit at a construction site, dug into reddish-brown earth and gravel. Standing water fills the bottom of the trench, with small stones and bricks visible beneath the shallow surface. Sunlight falls across the upper wall of the pit, casting a diagonal shadow over the water.
