A brass aarti lamp with a large open flame is held in a hand in the lower left, its long stem and bell-shaped base resting on a draped peach-coloured cloth over a wooden table. Behind it, a brass plate holds a small brass bowl of red liquid and a bowl of red powder, possibly kumkum. In the upper right, a man in a white shirt with a shoulder strap raises one arm beside the table. Blurred figures and an outdoor setting appear in the background.
