A seated man in a red-orange wrap and gold-beaded garland, with a white vibhuti line and red bindi on his forehead and his hair tied back, extends his right hand to touch the head of a young man kneeling before him. The young man has a shaved head, silver earrings, a saffron-orange robe with pink trim and a beaded bracelet. Behind them stand a golden cobra-hooded seat and a silver staff, with a peacock-feather fan at left and a gold ritual vessel at lower left against red drapery. Swamiji (probable): the seated man has long swept-back hair, a ceremonial gold garland and a red-orange wrap, and is conferring a blessing on the kneeling disciple.
