A photograph of a procession beneath a large banyan tree with many hanging aerial roots and dappled sunlight on sandy ground. Three men in plain white dhoti and shirt stand together; the central one holds up a multicoloured fringed parasol (red, blue, green, yellow) over an object wrapped in white cloth, which appears to be carried in a ceremonial manner. The other two men flank him, one on each side. Large granite boulders lie around the base of the tree. No identifiable a person appearance is visible; the men are shown in white ritual-style clothing, and the object under the parasol is not clearly a person.

In the foreground a man in white clothes with an orange shawl stands facing right. Beside him, a bare-chested man in orange dhoti and orange shawl stands on a rock with his back to the camera, long dark hair falling down. Behind them an older man in white clothes stands near the trunk. A few other people in white and orange are partly visible at the left edge. The faces of the people are not shown in detail. No identity is confirmed from appearance; the bare-chested figure with long hair and orange garments is a candidate only, with uncertain appearance.2006-10-07Four men in white dhotis and white shirts walk along a dusty path beneath a large, ancient banyan tree with dense hanging aerial roots and sprawling branches. The man on the left, with grey hair, wears a white shirt and dhoti. The man in the centre holds a long orange-saffron flag on a pole, and the men behind him wear white. Sunlight filters through the leaves onto a rocky, sandy ground. Their steady pace and the saffron flag suggest a devotional walking procession.2007-02-24
