Outdoor photo of a ceremonial ritual at a temple-style setting under palm trees in bright daylight. A standing man in saffron-orange robes with long swept-back hair and a white flower garland raises his hand and holds a small object as he performs a blessing. Beside him, a younger person in orange kneels with palms pressed together in namaskar. Several seated devotees in orange robes hold a tray of flowers and flower petals are scattered on a white stone platform. A large ornate copper-toned kalasha-style vessel adorned with yellow and multicoloured garlands stands on the left, with woven planter pots near the base. On the right, a person in orange holds a tall trident staff, and a red-and-orange umbrella is raised above the group. A red flag flies at the left edge.

The tall copper pole is wrapped in white cloth and draped with yellow and red marigold garlands; a small saffron flag flies at left. A man in an orange-saffron robe with a long swept-back hair and a white flower garland with rudraksha malas stands at centre holding a brass plate, apparently performing a flag-hoisting or pole-worship rite; the figure is consistent with the page's a person-led Brahmotsava context, though the face and presentation cues are only partly clear. A second saffron-robed priest in a dark beard kneels at the base offering a plate, and another bearded man in orange with a rudraksha garland stands at right. Potted banana-leaf plants and marigold petals line the platform, and a few spectators in red shirts and white clothes watch from the edges.2008-12-23 +1 copiesDecember 23 20092009-12-23Outdoor ritual at a tall copper flagstaff on a white-tiled platform, with palm trees and green foliage behind. A central figure in saffron-orange robes stands at the pole with long dark hair, a long white flower garland, and a rudraksha-style necklace, lifting one arm. Garlands of yellow and orange flowers hang on the pole, and potted plants sit around its base. Beside him, attendants in saffron robes hold a silver tray and a bundle of white cloth, and one stands at the right holding a plate with a flame. A small trident stands in the background near a tent-like canopy, and a few onlookers watch from the edge of the frame. This appears to be a flag-hoisting ceremony with garlanded flagpole and orange flags.2008-12-23December 23 20082008-12-23December 23 20082008-12-23
