Several priests in white dhotis and shawls, some bare-chested, stand holding tall brass multi-tiered oil lamps with flaming wicks, arms extended forward. Behind them a row of seated and standing devotees, many women in saffron, blue and purple saris, watch and fold hands. Long tables in the foreground hold brass plates and offerings on banana leaves, and a seated woman in orange and cream sari with a red-and-white forehead mark sits at the lower left. A man in an orange cloth stands in the middle, and a professional camera on a crane arm is mounted at the upper right. Plain white sky and green trees form the background.2012-07-03June 15 20092009-06-15A man stands under a covered open pavilion with a red pillar and red hanging ring frame, palm trees and foliage behind him. He wears a white dhoti and white shoulder cloth with gold-and-orange borders, a long dark rudraksha mala around his neck, and holds his hands together at his waist. Beside him at the lower left is a yellow silk cloth with a red border. A wooden cart stands in the background. The man's appearance is consistent with a shaved-headed devotee in traditional South Indian white ritual clothing; identity is not established from appearance alone.2011-09-07Outdoor photograph of a man in a flowing saffron-red dhoti and shawl, bare-chested, with a rudraksha mala and a white forehead tilak, long dark hair tied back, pouring ghee or offerings from a ladle-like vessel into a fire pit (homa/yagna) on a white stone platform scattered with leaves and petals. Coconut palms and a notice board stand behind. Around him, about ten people in white and cream clothes, some wearing yellow lanyards and yellow-and-black beaded necklaces, watch with hands folded. The white-clad onlookers stand nearby.2009-06-15A woman in a white sari with a gold-bordered edge stands on a woven mat in an open-sided pavilion, raising a brass lamp and a small brass vessel in both hands during a ritual.
