A large, old banyan tree dominates the frame, with a thick, gnarled trunk covered in hanging aerial roots and sprawling horizontal branches spreading in every direction under a dense canopy of green leaves. Patches of bright sky show through gaps in the foliage. Bare earth is visible at the lower right edge. No people, deities or ritual objects are visible. A small metal marker or sign is attached to the trunk at the left.
