A photograph of a ceremony at a decorated shrine area. On the left, a man with long dark hair wearing an orange-saffron robe and a gold necklace sits with palms pressed together in prayer. In the centre, a woman in a white sari and a child in white with a flower-decorated hair ornament kneel with hands folded before a white brick-lined fire pit or altar. A woman in a red sari with flower garlands sits at the right edge. Brass lamps, a brass bowl, a silver vessel with a green leaf, a plate of fruit including apples, bananas and grapes, and sweets surround the altar. Behind them a large garland-framed portrait shows a figure in orange robes with a garland, flanked by marigold and red floral decorations and a yellow floral arch.

In the foreground, a bride in an orange sari with a long braid and white flower garland sits beside a groom in white clothes, both with hands folded. Behind a white brick-built altar decorated with marigolds, fruit, a kalasha-style vessel, and brass lamps, a sannyasi in orange robes and rudraksha mala sits with hands folded. Another orange-clad sannyasi with a long golden staff stands near a seated figure on an orange-cushioned chair. Seated devotees in orange, white and yellow clothing fill the room, and a crowd of onlookers sits along the back wall in front of a deity murti display with a golden snake and lamps.2008-12-26December 26 20082008-12-26December 26 20092009-12-26December 26 20082008-12-26December 26 20082008-12-26
