October 24 20112011-10-24A dim photograph of a black-and-white group portrait framed behind glass, with a dark wooden frame and a brown mat. Dozens of men in white dhotis and shirts stand in rows beneath trees, while a front row sits on the ground, several in dark clothing and some in light dress. The framed print is hung on a wall. A Tamil caption above the photo is partly legible and gives date-range text. The image is a photo of a framed print, and the people shown are in the photograph, not physically present.A framed display of nine black-and-white archival photographs mounted behind glass, arranged in a three-by-three grid. The images show a religious gathering: seated figures in white dhotis and saris, a garlanded figure seated at a low table with an oil lamp, a man in white pouring or offering at a ritual setup, and a crowd of many people filling the rooms. Some panels show flower garlands and a decorated seat.2012-05-24October 24 20112011-10-24Two old sepia photographs are displayed against a dark red velvet cloth beneath an ornate gold-carved frame. The larger photo in a black wooden frame shows five men seated outdoors before a whitewashed building with lattice windows; they wear white dhotis and bare upper bodies, with rudraksha malas and sacred ash, one seated figure in white cloth with a shaved head. The smaller mounted photo on cream card shows a group of older robed men, women in saris and children seated before a temple-like setting with brass vessels in front. Both are vintage studio-style group portraits.2012-05-17Sepia photograph inside a wooden frame showing a crowd gathered around a central figure in a long dark skirt-like garment and a wrapped upper cloth, with flower garlands draped over the shoulders and chest; a white-clad man stands at the left and a small child in light clothing stands at the right, with other onlookers behind. The picture appears to be an old archival print, not a recent event, and the frame and print are visible at the edges.2012-05-24June 26 1974November 09 20062006-11-09A heavily overexposed, washed-out photograph of an outdoor ritual setting beside a white building with red doors and window frames, with palm trees behind. Several people sit or kneel on a pale ground, some with dark hair seen from behind, one in a white garment to the right. A small saffron-coloured cloth hangs at the far left edge, and scattered small objects lie on the ground in front of the group. The image quality is poor, so fine details of the activity are not clear.2008-05-23A framed old sepia photograph, displayed behind glass, shows six men and one older woman seated and standing before a white building with a wooden door and lattice windows. The men wear rudraksha malas, ash-marked bodies and white or cream dhotis, some with headbands. The woman in a white sari sits at the centre-left. The photo is a print in a dark wooden frame with a copyright notice in the corner.2012-05-17A framed photograph with a dark wooden frame and gold inner border lies on a white cloth. The printed photo shows a group of about eight women and children seated and standing indoors against a white wall. Several women wear sarees in blue, red, pink and dark blue; one older woman on the right wears a pale outfit with short hair. A man with a shaved head stands near the centre in a light garment with a garland. A small child sits in the lower left corner. No identifiable a person candidate is visible in the printed photo, and the framed image is a printed photograph rather than a live scene.2011-10-24March 15 20052005-03-15
