A young attendant in an orange robe stands at left, holding a lit oil lamp toward him. Behind the throne stands a gold-painted bull-shaped mount draped with yellow and orange marigold garlands, flanked by gold arched niches holding deity murtis with garlands: a deity at left in a red-and-white outfit and a goddess at right in a green sari and blue skirt. A silver tray with offerings and a small table sit at the front, with lion figures at the throne's base. Rose petals and a red curtain complete the setting.2017-11-28A photograph inside a temple shrine. In the foreground a shaven-headed man in saffron-orange robes, with a rudraksha mala and wrist beads, faces away from the camera and raises a tiered silver aarti lamp with multiple lit wicks. Two large painted guardian figures with multiple arms and gold crowns and necklaces flank the doorway. Behind, a gilded deity murti sits on a golden throne, with a second figure in red and orange garments seated nearby, and a few small lamps glow. Another person in white clothing is partly visible at the lower right.2014-10-27June 28 20142014-06-28 +1 copiesPhotograph of a ritual inside a decorated tent. A man in a red-orange dhoti and shawl, with a gold waist belt, a long gold-and-beaded necklace and gold armbands, stands with palms pressed together in prayer beside a fire pit with a bright flame in the foreground. Behind him, women in white saris stand near brass oil lamps and a garlanded white floral arch. On the right, a deity murti is adorned with flower garlands, a blue and gold cloth and a decorative crown, set on a striped cloth-draped platform beside gold ornamental metalwork. A red cloth covers a table with brass lamps. The setting suggests a homa or puja with flowers and fire offerings.2016-05-24A homa or fire ritual in a temple hall decorated with gold-framed panels and orange drapery. A priest in a rust-red turban and reddish-orange cloth kneels at left, tending a fire pit with a ladle or spoon. Behind the fire, a deity murti seated on a golden throne is adorned with yellow and purple garlands, a crown, and a trident. A tall brass lamp stand with multiple tiers and small oil lamps stands before the fire. Several seated devotees in white and maroon sit in the foreground, watching the ritual.2015-07-09 +1 copiesAugust 06 20142014-08-06A temple-style stage set with a gold nandi-like bull and gilded deity arches draped in yellow and orange marigold garlands, with a red velvet curtain behind. At centre a figure with a red-orange turban and saffron robe sits with palms pressed together on a red-cushioned throne, flanked by silver lions. To the left a shirtless attendant in orange cloth holds up a lit oil lamp or flame toward the seated figure. Right of centre a deity murti in green and blue garments with flower garlands sits on blue cloth, and gilded standing female figures flank the scene. Flower petals and fruit offerings lie on the stage in a puja setting. The seated figure has distinctive turban, saffron robe and jewelled adornments, a probable match to Swamiji in an in-person ritual.2017-11-28
