A person with long, voluminous dark hair, wearing an orange saffron wrap with a red-maroon edge over a bare shoulder, holds a lit oil lamp toward a black Shivalinga on a circular black base inside a grey marble-walled niche. A hanging metal vessel hangs from the ceiling, and a golden deity relief stands behind the lingam. An older person in glasses at left holds a brass plate of orange and yellow flowers. The wooden door of the shrine is open beside them.2006-09-29A photograph inside a dim temple shrine. A man in an orange-yellow dhoti and saffron shawl, bare-chested on one side, with a dark rudraksha mala and a vertical white sacred mark on his forehead, holds a flaming camphor or lamp flame in his right hand and a brass handbell in his left. He stands before a small stone-framed niche with an ornate golden arch containing a small dark deity murti on a stone pedestal. On the right, a stone table holds a brass lamp with a lit wick, a brass vessel and a brass stand. The scene shows an aarti offering being performed.September 29 20062006-09-29
