No people are visible; the image shows only the decorated wooden structure.2013-09-30A close photograph of a sculpted wooden or clay figure's lower body, shown from the front seated posture: thighs, knees and bare feet with toes, glossy dark brown with orange-brown highlights and scattered wood shavings on a dark work table. Only a partial person is visible at the top edge, a hand resting on the figure's hip and a white-clad arm and lap, so the visible human is a craftsman or assistant, not an identifiable figure. The figure is an unfinished carving, not a finished murti.2013-07-01September 04 20132013-09-04A black stone deity murti of Dakshinamurti sits atop a rough mound of red and grey stones beneath a spreading banyan tree, set on bare red earth. The figure is seated with an arched ornamental frame behind it, surrounded by open ground and palm trees. Faint white kolam lines are drawn at the bottom edge.2003-04-02A photograph of a reclining animal sculpture, a brown-and-dark-glossy wax or clay model of a recumbent bull or cow with its head raised, resting on a wooden board in a workshop. Behind it on the right is a small clay furnace with glowing charcoal and metal tongs, and a sheet of grey metal or plaster lies at upper left. No people are visible.2006-12-10November 10 20062006-11-10A photograph of a large, ancient banyan tree with dense aerial roots wrapping around its trunk. At its base sits a circular stone platform with steps, and a dark opening in the roots holds a small lit oil lamp. Dark polished stone slabs in the foreground are scattered with pink flower petals and a line of painted yellow and red marks. Green trees and a red boundary wall appear in the background. No people are visible.2013-09-18A dark grey stone Shiva lingam stands on a yoni-shaped pedestal on a tiled floor. Faint reddish-orange markings streak the lingam's shaft, and scattered pink flower petals lie near the base. Behind it, silver metal trim and a brown-orange cloth are visible. No people are present. The lingam appears to be a deity murti in a temple setting.2013-10-05Close overhead photograph of a freshly formed mud lingam, a smooth cylindrical shape with a rounded top rising from a broad mound of wet brown clay on a grey concrete floor. Scattered clay crumbs and small orange and pink paint specks dot the surface around it, and a bit of a metal tool edge is visible at the lower left. No people are visible in the frame.2010-10-01
