March 03 20132013-03-03A seated figure in an orange-brown robe sits on a red-cushioned golden throne in front of maroon drapes. A long garland of white flowers and multicoloured ribbons hangs from the figure's neck, and a decorated crown-like ornament with blue and white motifs is being placed on or raised above the head. Several men in white dhotis and white shirts surround the throne, some wearing orange shawls. One man in white, bald-headed, reaches forward with a ritual gesture. Another man holds a green leafy bundle near the throne's base, and a cameraman in the right corner films. The scene appears to be a coronation or honouring ceremony.2013-03-03March 03 20132013-03-03A photograph of a ceremony on an ornate stage before a deep maroon curtain. A seated figure on a gold throne with a carved gold backrest wears a tall crown with colourful patterns, a white and red garland of flowers, and a saffron-coloured garment, smiling. A tall golden trident-shaped staff with small bells stands beside the throne. In front, a silver ceremonial plate is set on the stage. A man in an orange robe kneels and bows, while others in white shirts and white dhotis, some with rudraksha malas and orange shawls, stand around. A cameraman in white at left films the scene.2013-03-03March 03 20132013-03-03March 03 20132013-03-03May 12 20122012-05-12August 09 20152015-08-09A group of men in white dhotis and white shirts with rudraksha malas surrounds a seated figure on a gold throne at the centre. The seated figure wears a colourful beaded crown and a garland of flowers, and a tall trident with bells stands beside the throne. In front, a red and silver plaque with Tamil lettering is set on a gold base decorated with green leaves. A man in the foreground sits smiling with hands clasped, and others on both sides press palms together in greeting. Red drapes hang behind the group. The seated figure's appearance is not clearly visible enough to confirm identity, so no candidate is established.2013-03-03July 17 20082008-07-17Seated on an ornate gold throne with a red velvet cushion before dark red drapes, a man in a rust-red robe and matching turban wears a long rudraksha-style garland and a gold necklace. Devotees attend him: a bare-chested man in white dhoti with gold border stands at left, a person in saffron robe bends forward with a white cloth over the head, and women in white saris with gold borders stand at right, one offering something. A brass lamp stand and white flower petals lie on the floor.2015-11-22A photograph of a central figure in an orange-red turban and orange-saffron robe, wearing a long multicolour flower garland with red, white and yellow blossoms and a gold ornamental pendant, with a rudraksha-style bead necklace. He stands with head bowed and hands clasped at his waist, receiving honour. Beside him, an older man in white dhoti and shirt holds up an orange-and-gold silk shawl, and other men in white clothes stand nearby. Behind them is an ornate gold-framed throne against a deep red curtain, with a large screen above showing a colourful image. A devotee's bare shoulder and head appear at the right edge. Six or more people are visible.2015-08-09
