A dark black stone lingam, the Shiva linga, is being bathed with a golden-yellow liquid poured from a brass vessel held by a priest's hand at upper left, with the stream running down the lingam and pooling at its base. The priest's forearm shows white ash markings. Behind the lingam sits a deity murti draped in a teal and gold brocade cloth, with decorative jewelled adornments, white jasmine garlands and red flower garlands. A reddish-orange and gold fabric is visible at left, and a brass plate stands at the far left. The scene reads as an abhishekam ritual bathing the linga.
