A row of young boys seated on the floor in saffron-orange robes with shaved heads and white tilak marks on their foreheads, hands folded in prayer or resting on their laps. Silver trays with flowers, small brass lamps, bowls of offerings and a silver puja platform sit in front of them. More boys in red and orange garments sit in the background.

An outdoor photograph of a ritual offering being prepared on a long table draped in a white cloth on bare ground. Several men in saffron-orange robes with garlands of yellow and white flowers stand around the table, one holding a small shell-like object near his mouth. The table holds silver bowls and plates of bananas, fruits, sweets, cut fruit, flowers, a silver kalasha pot decorated with yellow marigolds, and a brass lamp with a lit flame. Two young men in white dhotis and orange robes stand on the left, one with a white-and-red forehead mark. Older men in white shirts and dhotis walk nearby. Behind them is a blue tarpaulin roof over a thatched shed and a hazy hill.

Photograph of a large seated group of young boys and some adults in saffron-orange sannyasi-style robes during a puja, sitting in rows on white floor mats before brass plates, kalasha-style vessels, flower offerings, small oil lamps and a silver-toned altar piece. The boys have shaved heads and white forehead markings, and several are seated with hands raised in mudra or joined in prayer. Behind them, more orange-robed participants sit along the hall, with red curtains and white pillars in the background. A small black deity murti sits on a silver stand at left.

A young shaven-headed boy in saffron-orange robes sits cross-legged behind a small silver puja tray during a ritual setting in an open courtyard. He wears a rudraksha mala, a pendant, and small hoop earrings, with white sacred markings on his forehead and arms. On the tray are brass bowls, a lit oil lamp, a brass vessel, incense sticks, a conch shell, flowers and offerings of fruit. Beside him stand a brass kalasha decorated with yellow flowers and mango leaves, coconuts, a basket of red petals and a tall steel container. The mat beneath is striped red, green and natural woven. Red pillars frame the scene. The image is a photograph; no a person candidate is visibly identifiable by the cues required.

A seated group of young monks and boys in saffron-orange robes with red undergarments, many with white vibhuti stripes on their foreheads and shaved heads, sit on the floor of a hall performing a ritual. Several hold brass horn-shaped cones and bowls, with silver metal vessels and small steel pots set on low silver trays in front of them. Rudraksha malas hang around some necks. In the background, a woman in white and other seated attendees are visible among red mats and white rope barriers. Some participants appear to be working with the cones while others sit with hands near the trays, and an older bald man in orange with glasses sits in the centre-back. No figure is clearly identifiable as a person from appearance cues alone.

A photograph of a large hall where many young boys in saffron-orange robes sit cross-legged on mats in rows, with white cloth bands across their foreheads. Several boys wear rudraksha malas and one holds a bundle of white cloth. Brass pots, small silver trays and offering dishes sit before them, and a boy in the foreground pours or arranges items. Red curtains hang along the back wall, and a red carpeted stage area lies to the right. A row of older adults in white clothes with red shawls sits along the far side, and a man in white with a red shawl stands near the stage. No clear identification of a person is possible from appearance.

Two shaved-headed young boys in saffron-orange monastic robes sit side by side at a floor-level ritual. The boy on the left holds a long brass vessel and pours water from it into a steel bowl, while the boy on the right, wearing a rudraksha mala across his chest and a white tilak on his forehead, cups his hands beneath the stream. Steel bowls in front hold water and a small heap of orange and yellow offerings. Behind them, several other saffron-robed people sit in a hall with similar brass vessels. The white band on the older boy's forehead is a ritual marking.
