A row of people in white ritual clothing hold lit oil lamps (diyas) aloft during a puja. In the foreground, a man with short grey hair, a white kurta and a red-and-white beaded cord around his neck extends a brass lamp toward the right. Beside and behind him, others in white garments with red and orange shawls or cords hold lamps or have open hands raised in offering. The background is a dim wood-panelled hall. The scene reads as an oil-lamp ritual, possibly aarti.2013-12-21January 18 20132013-01-18Men in white ritual dhotis perform an aarti with small brass oil lamps held outstretched. The foreground man, bare-chested with a rudraksha mala across his chest and a brass bangle on his wrist, faces left holding one lamp. Behind him a man with white horizontal tilak stripes on his forehead and arms holds a second lit lamp. Another man at left edge is partly visible. A green and gold draped structure and a red tray with offerings sit at the lower right. The scene suggests a devotional lamp offering. The foreground man's bare chest and mala are visible, but his face is not distinctively marked by the qualifying cues required for a probable identification, so his identity is unsure.2010-11-30Photo of a devotional ritual in a hall with people seated in white ritual clothes. In the foreground a bare-chested man with a red tilak on his forehead and a gold-coloured cloth over his shoulder holds a brass oil lamp in his outstretched hand while chanting. Beside him a man in a white dhoti-style shirt with a rudraksha mala and wire-rimmed glasses lifts a lit lamp and a small handbell. Behind them others in white and a person in orange sports clothing sit with metal plates and lamps, and the lamps are lit in the dim room.2012-09-05January 04 20132013-01-04A man with long dark hair swept back and small hoop earrings holds a small brass oil lamp with a lit flame toward the camera with his right hand. He wears a white dhoti-style wrap with a gold border, a gold bangle and ring, and a red bindi on his forehead. Behind him, blurred seated people in white and orange clothing sit in a hall with red draping. Appearance cues include long swept-back hair, ceremonial gold jewellery and a gold-bordered wrap, consistent with Swamiji (probable) performing an aarti with an oil lamp during a satsang setting.2013-06-18Crowded evening ritual with devotees seated closely together in white dhotis and shawls. Several hold small oil lamps with lit flames while a man in the foreground on the right, bare-chested with a sacred thread and mala, extends his arm forward. A bald man with gold-and-yellow bordered white cloth sits center holding a lamp. An older man on the right wears a white kurta, a tilak on his forehead and a mala. Some onlookers in red and blue shirts sit at the edges.2011-07-23December 28 20112011-12-28Several men in white dhotis with gold borders sit bare-chested, wearing rudraksha malas and wristbands. The men in front and centre hold lit oil lamps or small flames aloft in their hands during a ritual. The man on the left has a red tilak and sacred ash on his forehead, and another man at right has white ash marks. A blurred figure with a tilak is at the far left edge. Behind them hang orange and red cloths. The scene suggests an aarti-style lamp offering.2013-01-18A seated man in a white dhoti with gold border and a bare upper torso holds a lit oil lamp flame toward the camera, with a rudraksha mala around his neck and a pendant necklace. Behind him, a large group of seated men in white shirts and white dhotis, many wearing event lanyards, hold small lamps and open prayer sheets.
