A man in a loose orange-saffron dhoti-style wrap and long curly hair stands at right holding a brass bell in one hand and a lit lamp with flame over a tray of offerings, while incense smoke drifts through the air. Several seated devotees in orange robes sit cross-legged on a raised platform, some with shaved heads, and a woman in orange sits near the front. On the altar are small gold-coloured deity murtis, a golden lion figure, a standing statue in orange cloth, and vases of yellow flowers and fruit. A small ceiling fan and hanging gold-tasselled lanterns are visible. Overall a homa-style or puja ritual with orange-clad participants.2006-08-22Night ritual homa at an open-air ashram setting. A fire burns in a stone-edged fire pit in the foreground. A woman in orange sari with a garland and a silver tray stands at left beside a shaven-headed man in orange robes and a rudraksha mala, both with hands folded. At right a man in a pink headband and white shawl pours from a brass vessel into the fire. Behind them, seated devotees in white and pink clothes watch and fold their hands. A red and gold throne stands at left, and an illuminated deity murti with garlands sits in a shrine at the back. Several people are in the crowd.2013-07-04July 22 20132013-07-22July 16 20152015-07-16January 06 20182018-01-06January 06 20182018-01-06Night ritual at an outdoor fire pit. A central figure with a shaved head, red-and-gold vibhuti marking on the forehead, a large yellow-and-white flower garland and a red shawl over a red-and-leopard-print garment sits on a low gilded stool, holding a ritual implement toward the flames. Flames rise from a yellow brick fire pit in the foreground. Behind, a seated audience in white and red-brown shawls and saffron clothing listens, some with hands folded in prayer. To the right, a red-draped table holds decorated coconuts, garlands and ornamental offerings. The scene suggests a homa or fire ritual.2014-05-20
