Outdoor photo on a grassy field with a dirt path and a red brick wall behind. A black fabric-wrapped figure stands on a wooden pole-and-bamboo litter draped with an orange cloth, possibly a procession stand or palanquin being readied. Four men surround it: a bare-chested man in white dhoti with gold border and a rudraksha mala holds a long bamboo pole at left; a man in white dhoti and shawl stands near him; a man in white shirt and dark trousers stands center; a man in white dhoti with a white shawl stands at right; a man in white shirt crouches at the bottom adjusting the litter. Yellow flower petals are scattered on the grass.

A large figure of black clothing with an orange-red cloth draped over its top stands on a wooden bamboo frame, apparently being prepared for a procession. Four men in white dhotis with gold borders and white upper cloths stand and kneel around it; one kneeling man in a white shirt works at the base of the frame, and another on the right holds a bundle of white cloth. The man on the left wears a brown rudraksha mala. A small green sign stands at the left edge.2011-08-28 +1 copiesAugust 28 20112011-08-28 +1 copiesDecember 23 20072007-12-23April 01 20082008-04-01Outdoor photo on grass with scrubby bushes behind. A long-haired figure in a flowing saffron-orange garment with a shawl stands in the center, bending toward a silver tray holding a lamp, flowers and small items, with an incense stick or lit sticks planted in the ground. A shaved-headed man in a saffron shawl kneels at lower left, pouring or tending a small vessel. Behind them a row of people in white dhotis and orange or yellow shawls stand with hands folded in prayer.2008-04-01A photograph of an outdoor ritual at a stone mortar. A young man with long dark hair and bare chest, wearing an orange saffron dhoti and shawl, grips a tall wooden pestle and presses it into a stone mortar on the sandy ground. Around him, several onlookers stand: a man in a white kurta and dark-rimmed glasses with a black rudraksha-style necklace holds a metal plate, a bald man in a grey t-shirt and trousers watches, a woman with short red hair wears a white wrap, and another man in white stands in the background. An older bare-chested man with white moustache wears a white dhoti at right. Scattered white cloth scraps, leaves and a small bowl lie on the ground near shrubs and trees, with a few stones and a red plastic chair behind.2004-12-31April 01 20082008-04-01February 14 20072007-02-14October 06 20162016-10-06
