A photograph of a homa fire ceremony on a low platform covered with golden-yellow cloth and marigold-red petal sprinkles. A bright flame burns in a stacked square of wooden blocks in the center, with smoke rising. Behind it, a clear glass vessel holding a yellow-orange kalasha-like top with green leaves and red flowers sits on a silver tray, while a hand waves a white feather fan over the fire. Garlands of yellow and red flowers hang on a golden-draped table behind, and a small oil lamp and a printed card with a QR code sit at the left edge.2010-06-06July 09 20152015-07-09 +3 copiesSeptember 09 20162016-09-09A homa fire burns on a square brick fire pit, with flames rising high in the centre. A hand holding a silver ladle with a long handle pours liquid into the flames, and a copper-and-silver bowl sits on the left edge. Darbha grass lies on the bricks. The scene suggests a homa or yagna. No people beyond the hand are visible, and the background shows a colourful striped cloth.2018-03-12Close-up photo of a homa fire ritual on a brick fire pit. Bright orange flames rise on the right while a long ladle or spoon pours a thin stream of ghee into the fire. A small engraved copper or brass bowl sits on the bricks, flanked by flower offerings in white, pink and yellow, with sticks laid across the pit. Only a sliver of white cloth and a hand appears at the left edge, and blurred yellow and orange garlands sit in the background. No identifiable person's face is visible, so no one is attributed to a person.2018-01-06May 29 20182018-05-29 +1 copiesClose view of a homa fire built on stacked yellow-orange and reddish bricks, with bright orange flames rising from offerings wrapped in white cloth.
