May 05 20162016-05-05A photo of a feast service in a plain pink-walled room. On the left, a figure with long dark hair wearing an orange turban, orange robes and a yellow marigold garland sits with hands pressed together in greeting. Beside them a bald man in orange with a marigold garland sits on a mat. On the right, a man in white kurta and glasses and a woman in a yellow-and-green sari with red bangles lean forward to offer food from steel thali plates set on a low wooden table. Other people in orange clothing sit in the background. The orange-robed figure with the turban appears to be a sannyasi; whether the person in the turban is a person cannot be determined from appearance alone.2016-05-05May 05 20162016-05-05May 05 20162016-05-05April 21 20162016-04-21May 05 20162016-05-05May 05 20162016-05-05A photograph inside a plain peach-walled room. In the foreground, a bare-chested man with long dark dreadlocks wears a saffron-orange turban and a brown beaded shawl, seated on a cushioned mat; he has distinctive long hair and a turban, and is a person, though the cues are limited. Before him a woman in a yellow and green sari with red bangles offers a steel plate of marigold garlands and flowers at a low wooden table, while a man in glasses in a grey jacket leans in with folded hands. Behind them a monk in orange robes and a bald-headed man in orange stand near the table, and a cameraman with a camera on his shoulder films the scene.2016-05-05Photograph of a seated devotional meal at a Kumbh Mela camp. In the foreground left, a man with a tall orange turban, long dark hair and a rudraksha mala sits cross-legged in saffron-orange robes on a patterned mat. Beside him, a man with a shaved head, saffron robe and beads sits near a low wooden table. Further back a bald man in orange and a seated sadhu with a rudraksha mala wait. At right, a woman in a pink shawl with marigold garlands leans over a steel thali plate placing food, while a photographer with a camera and a standing man with a marigold garland observe. Low wooden tables hold steel plates and water bottles, and the walls are pale peach.2016-05-05March 14 20142014-03-14May 06 20162016-05-06Outdoor courtyard scene with orange-robed attendants seated on the floor before red low wooden platforms holding steel thali plates of food, including puris, dal and small bowls. On the right, a man in a red-maroon turban and saffron-red robe, wearing a marigold and white flower garland and a gold-coloured shawl, sits cross-legged on a red mat, touching a plate with his hand. Beside him, an elderly man with white hair and beard in saffron robes sits on a mat while an orange-clad attendant bends forward to serve food. Other saffron-robed people sit along the wall behind, beside red-painted iron gates and pale yellow walls.2015-10-03 +1 copies
