A night photograph of a large crowd of devotees standing with palms pressed together in anjali mudra, many wearing white dhotis and white shirts with orange-red shawls draped over their shoulders. Several carry white cloth bundles on their backs, consistent with the coconut bundles of pada yatris. Some have sacred ash marks on their foreheads. Strings of multicoloured fairy lights glow in the background, and onlookers stand further back among the trees.

A photograph of a crowd of devotees standing in prayer under a decorated pandal at night, palms pressed together in anjali. Many wear white clothing; women wear white sarees with gold borders, and a woman at left wears a red and gold shawl. Several wear rudraksha malas. A man in a light blue checked shirt stands in the foreground. Strings of white flower garlands, yellow tassels and small blue-and-white flags hang overhead, with bright tube lights along the tent. A tall decorated pillar with painted bird motifs stands in the background, and an ornate shrine canopy with gold trim is visible at left.

Night outdoor ritual at a temple courtyard with palm-leaf and banana-leaf decorations and string lights overhead. A row of men in white dhotis and white shirts with orange-and-red shawls stand on green banana leaves, hands pressed together in anjali, facing forward. Some hold white cloth bundles at their chests. Behind them a larger crowd of devotees in white and some in saffron stands in the courtyard, with a canopy and decorated structures at the back. Consistent with a Karthigai Deepam evening gathering, though no a person is clearly visible.
