A group of shaved-headed young sannyasi-style devotees in saffron-orange robes kneel in rows on a glossy white floor, palms pressed together in namaskar, with white vibhuti tilaks on their foreheads and rudraksha malas around their necks. Behind them seated musicians play a harmonium and other instruments on a colourful cloth, and women in saris sit nearby. At right stands a painted deity murti with raised hands beside a garland of marigolds and red flowers. Brass oil lamps and a large brass lamp in the foreground hold a flowered garland. The setting looks like a devotional satsang or puja gathering.2014-06-01June 01 20142014-06-01A row of young men and boys sit cross-legged on a polished white floor in prayer posture with palms pressed together. Most wear saffron-orange dhoti-style wraps with pink and red borders, many with shaved heads, rudraksha malas and red-and-white forehead markings. One man in the centre wears a white dhoti with a gold border and a wooden mala, with a sacred thread on his upper body. Behind them a red curtain hangs and brass lamp stands are visible at the left, with a wall air conditioner on the right. Some hands hold red and wooden beaded bracelets.2014-06-01January 10 20162016-01-10April 03 20132013-04-03March 30 20162016-03-30June 01 20142014-06-01April 03 20132013-04-03October 13 20132013-10-13A photograph of a large indoor assembly of seated devotees in a hall with pink walls and red curtains. Several seated people hold open books, and in the foreground brass plates with offerings and small bowls sit on silver trays. Metal crowd barriers and seated women in white and colourful saris fill the background. No individual is clearly identifiable as a senior teacher in this view.2013-03-13 +1 copiesSeated devotees in an indoor hall perform a ritual puja with brass plates, small bells, a kalasha-style brass vessel and flower offerings set on the floor. Four or five sannyasi-style monks in saffron-orange robes with rudraksha malas and white forehead markings sit cross-legged in front, hands raised in mudra and eyes closed. Behind them, rows of people in white clothing sit on red mats, with a few in yellow and orange shirts. Metal pillars and a red-draped stage line the background.2013-10-13August 11 20162016-08-11
