December 15 20092009-12-15A photograph of an empty ornate golden throne (peetha) draped in a white cloth with a gold border, set outdoors in daylight. The gilded chair has a cobra-hood style golden canopy with a snake head and hanging gems, and an orange and maroon shawl is draped over its backrest. Garlands of green leaves, yellow marigolds, red flowers, white jasmine and strings of yellow beads hang across the throne. Brass bowls and a conch shell sit on a wooden stand at the right, and an orange wall and palm trees form the background. No people are visible.2011-01-17A decorated altar scene dominated by a large statue with an orange and maroon turban, a gold cobra-hood backdrop, green-jewelled ornaments and a gold waist band, draped in a purple silk garment and wrapped with yellow and magenta flower garlands. In front sits a smaller white marble statue of a seated figure in a blue robe and blue turban with a red forehead mark, wearing a gold pendant on a beaded chain, its hand raised in a blessing gesture. Brass oil lamps stand at the base. The statues are not living people; the orange-and-maroon-turbaned figure is a deity murti and the seated white figure is a statue.2010-09-15A photograph of a seated figure on an ornate gilded throne with a golden cobra-hood backrest and a carved gold-toned seat base. The figure wears an orange-red turban decorated with a silver ornament and a bright green leafy garland over the head, with thick yellow marigold garlands and magenta flower garlands draped across the shoulders and chest. Long dark rudraksha mala strands with gold beads hang down the front, and a gold-tinted crown-like headpiece with green stones is visible at the top. The setting is an open pavilion with orange walls and a metal gate behind. This appears to be a pada puja or ceremonial decoration setting, with the figure clad in white and orange ritual cloth; the figure's identity is not established from appearance.2011-12-31A large deity murti or statue seated on a white-draped platform, adorned with heavy garlands of yellow marigolds, purple and maroon flowers, white blossoms and green leaves. The figure wears an orange cloth wrap, a gold-toned ornate belt and collar, and tall decorated gold earrings with green stones. A golden umbrella-like canopy or parasol with a curved handle rises behind, and a purple drape and orange fabric hang in the background. Potted plants and a red railing sit at the left edge. No physical people are visible; this is a statue, not a living person.2010-12-27October 04 20082008-10-04July 20 20102010-07-20Close view of a deity murti decorated for worship: a large gilded cobra hood with golden snake head and hanging ornaments rises above a coiled golden base, draped with an orange cloth and garlands of yellow marigolds, purple and pink flowers, red blossoms and green leaves. Beside it, a standing figure wears a gold brocade top, a blue silk skirt with gold border and a gold jewelled neckline, also garlanded. Steps and a red-railed wall are behind. No physical people are visible.2008-10-19A decorated deity murti of Shiva-like form, with face covered by an orange-and-maroon cloth and a dark garment, wearing a golden crown of pointed petal-shaped ornaments set with green stones, a golden rudraksha-style bead necklace and a diamond-studded collar. Yellow and purple-pink marigold garlands drape over the arms, and a silver-and-gold embossed torso section and a red brocade gold-bordered cloth with jewelled necklaces sit below. Dark draped fabric and a metal rod form the background. No people are visible.2010-09-25A photograph of a figure seated on a golden throne shaped like a coiled cobra, its hood raised high behind it with green-tipped gold fangs at the top. The figure wears an orange cloth wrap, rudraksha beads, and is draped in thick garlands of yellow marigolds interspersed with magenta and purple flowers. Green leaves are tucked at the head, and a gold-and-stone ornament sits near the shoulder. Red fabric is spread across the foreground. The figure appears to be a sculpted or adorned murti rather than a living person, so no physical person is counted.2011-12-28A decorated murti-like figure seated on a gold-embossed throne with a fan-shaped scaled backrest, dressed in a white garment with a maroon-and-gold border and an orange-and-maroon turban. Yellow marigold garlands and red rose garlands drape the figure, with gold bead necklaces and a jeweled crown band with green gem earrings. Purple and pink fabric hangs behind the throne. The figure's face is not visible, and no living person is shown, so this is a depiction of a decorated figure rather than a person.2008-10-04A photograph of a decorated deity murti seated on a white-draped platform outdoors. The figure wears an orange-saffron cloth and a golden headdress or crown with green gem-set ornaments hanging at the top. Garlands of yellow marigolds, purple flowers, dark red blooms and white jasmine-like flowers wrap the body from shoulder to lap. Gold jewellery and a gold waist ornament glint on the torso. Behind it, a violet draped backdrop and a large orange canopy with a gold-edged fringe are visible, along with potted plants and a red-and-white railing at left. No physical people are present.2010-12-27
