Several orange-robed men stand and move near the stage, while about two dozen people in orange and brown robes sit cross-legged on the floor facing it, some with long hair in braids. Tall decorated pillars with colourful patterned bands frame the stage, and a small oil lamp and offerings sit at the front of the stage. Standing figures in orange garments are on the dais and stage left, and a standing person in orange stands on the right beside an electric fan. Seated people in orange robes fill the foreground, facing the stage, with their backs to the camera.2006-08-22September 20 20152015-09-20Wide photograph of a darshan line on a stage. A seated figure in a red robe sits on an ornate gold throne at centre, flanked by a standing figure in saffron-orange clothing. Devotees in white, cream and pastel saris and shirts queue in a line along both sides of the stage, some with hands folded, others approaching the throne. The backdrop is a cream curtain strung with orange-marigold garlands and small hanging lamps, under a dark red swagged valance. Audience silhouettes fill the foreground seats, and a figure in light clothing stands at the right edge. The scene suggests a Kalpataru darshan at a Chennai hall.2009-02-14Indoor event photographed from behind the audience, with many seated devotees facing a stage hung with red drapes and decorative woven banners with tassels. On the stage stands a gilded ornate throne with a canopy, beside a standing golden figure. A person in white stands near the throne, and several seated attendees in white, orange and saffron clothes sit on the floor in front. Oil lamps and offerings are placed at the base of the stage. Warm red lighting fills the hall. A candidate in saffron clothing is visible on the right, but his appearance is not distinctive enough to confirm identity, so the figure is described by role only.2006-10-15Indoor festival scene under a white tent canopy with red carpeting and crowds of devotees. In the centre a man with a tall dark hair bun, a rust-red shawl over a matching kurta, and a long beaded necklace stands near the front, flanked by women in saffron and yellow saris.
