October 07 20112011-10-07Outdoors on a dry, grassy hillside with scattered boulders and a single green tree, a large group of men walks along a dirt path. At the centre, a long-haired figure in a saffron-orange robe with a matching orange shawl and a rudraksha mala walks barefoot-looking in sandals, and appears to be the focus of the group. Around this figure, men wear white shirts and white dhotis, some with rudraksha malas, while others wear pale blue shirts, a yellow-green shirt with dark trousers, and khaki or grey clothing. Some people are further back on the hill.2008-08-01August 01 20082008-08-01March 14 20032003-03-14August 01 20082008-08-01A photograph of a group walking along a dirt road past a corrugated-roof shed, with a red-and-black flag on a pole and an electricity pylon behind. In the centre, a man with long dark hair wears an orange-saffron robe, an orange turban and a rudraksha mala, walking with a group of men in white shirts and dhotis; a uniformed security guard in a blue-grey shirt and navy trousers walks beside him. Several other men in shirts and dhotis follow. The walking figure in orange has long hair, a turban and rudraksha beads, consistent with the Swamiji (probable) appearance cues, shown as a sannyasi walking in procession.2006-12-15 +1 copiesA group walks along a dirt path in a village-style compound with trees and a carved stone pavilion at left. At left, a long-haired man in orange robes with a rudraksha mala and sandals gestures while speaking. Beside him, a man in a saffron turban and orange robe holds a rudraksha mala and walks barefoot. Behind them, a bearded man in orange with an orange turban and white-clad attendants follow. At right, a long-haired person in a yellow robe with a green-bordered cloth walks beside a man in an orange turban. Several men in white dhotis and shirts stand and walk nearby, with palm fronds and a thatched hut at upper right.2007-08-09August 01 20082008-08-01August 01 20082008-08-01August 09 20072007-08-09Outdoor ritual scene on bare earth beneath trees, with a small brick-and-white square platform in the foreground. Drummers in white dhotis play drums and a horn-like instrument on the left. A crowd of standing devotees in white, cream and saffron clothing watches; a ceremonial parasol with yellow and red panels stands behind. In the foreground a priest in saffron robes and rudraksha mala holds up a long orange cord or whip-like ritual implement with both arms, while another saffron-clad attendant with garlands and beads stands nearby. A large black stone lingam-shaped object rests on a pedestal to the right, with a dark stone basin beside it and a pink and purple cloth on the ground.2015-05-05September 25 20112011-09-25
