A seated figure in a saffron-orange robe sits with palms pressed together in namaste on an ornate gold throne with carved lion-like armrests and a gilded crown-shaped backrest. A large painted backdrop of a banyan tree with hanging aerial roots fills the background. Small gold-topped pedestals and red-cushioned platforms flank the throne on a stage setting. The seated figure has a shaved head and wears no visible crown, turban or rudraksha mala, so the appearance cues for an identification are insufficient and the seated person is described by role only as a seated teacher in saffron.
