He holds two long orange-yellow ropes raised overhead with one arm, which is bandaged at the wrist. He wears red flower garlands, a gold necklace and a tilak on his forehead. Coconut palms and green trees stand behind him under an overcast sky, and a few marigold petals lie on the platform.2013-10-05Outdoor photo beside a tall bronze-coloured ceremonial pillar wrapped with yellow and magenta flower garlands, with a carved relief panel and a small dark stone figure at the left. A figure in an orange robe with a tan shawl bows forward, head down, holding an orange-wrapped object against the pillar, a gold-coloured bead necklace at the chest. Two more men in orange and white robes stand at the right edge, one bald and one with a shaved head, looking on. Palm trees and a pale sky sit behind. The orange-clad figure's identity is uncertain from appearance; the shaved-headed men are priests or devotees in saffron and white.2010-10-07Outdoor ceremony at a temple courtyard: a bare-chested priest in rust-red dhoti and orange-gold sash stands on a stone platform, one hand gripping a copper-clad dhwaja (flagstaff) decorated with yellow and red flower garlands, while pulling a rope. Tall coconut palms and cloudy sky frame the scene. Several onlookers in red and orange cloth sit or stand along the edge of the platform, with a stone-carved base at the foot of the pole.
