A photograph of a priest in saffron-orange robes with a matching head cloth and a rudraksha mala, standing at a shrine and holding a long wooden staff upright in both hands. Before him, a large framed portrait of a smiling man with long dark hair, a red bindi and an orange robe, raises one hand in blessing; the portrait is garlanded with white and yellow flower strings and red roses. Beneath it sits a deity murti draped in a green cloth, surrounded by marigolds, and brass oil lamps stand on either side. A banner behind shows a larger printed image. The priest appears to be performing a shrine ritual with the staff.

A seated young man in a saffron-orange robe and matching orange turban sits cross-legged on a white cloth before a ritual arrangement, with ash-white markings on his arms and forehead, a red tilak, and a long rudraksha mala. He holds his hands together over a small brass vessel, eyes closed, in worship. Around him, several men in white shirts and dhotis sit on striped mats with hands folded, watching. In front lie a brass bowl of sacred liquid, a plate of flower petals, fruit including apples and bananas, a kalasha-style offering, a silver bowl of grains, and dried leaves and herbs. A white and red garland hangs at the left. Tamil signage and a whitewashed tiled wall form the setting, consistent with a puja at a home.

A seated man in a maroon-red shawl and dhoti holds a tall silver ceremonial staff upright in his raised right arm, eyes closed, a red tilak on his forehead. White jasmine garlands and red flower garlands hang around his neck. A bright oil lamp flame burns in front of him on a stand. To the left, a young man in orange robes with a rudraksha mala leans over wooden trays holding fruit, flowers and offerings. On the right, a framed portrait labelled with a copyright line shows a figure in orange robes and a beaded necklace seated under a tree, and the frame is decorated with red flowers and garlands on an orange-draped table. The scene appears to be a ritual lamp offering with a staff raised. The seated man's identity is not established by visible cues alone, so he is described by role as a ritual participant.

A person with long, dark, swept-back hair and a white vertical tilak with red bindi on the forehead sits on an ornate gold throne, holding a large polished silver trishula with a red gem at its centre. The person wears an orange-red garment and a garland of pink and white flowers. Behind the throne are gold relief carvings and a garland of red and white blossoms, with a gold and orange drum at the left edge.

A photograph of a puja at a home shrine. A man in an orange-red turban, bare-chested with an orange-red dhoti sash, a white flower garland and a gold armlet, holds a lit oil lamp (aarti) toward framed portraits decorated with orange and red flower garlands. In his left hand he holds a silver bell-like vessel. A second man on the right, in white clothes with a red-orange shawl and a red tilak, raises his hands in devotion. Behind the shrine sits a blue-tinted portrait of a seated robed figure with a rudraksha-style necklace, framed by a red and white garland. Brass pots and rose petals rest on a white stand below.

A man in maroon-brown robes and a gold ornate necklace stands beside golden statues in a temple-style interior. He wears a long multicolour garland of pink, yellow and red flowers, gold bangles and a gold waist cord, and extends his right hand to touch the forehead of a golden statue of a bald sage wearing a white-and-red flower garland and maroon shawl. Behind him are more golden statues with white and red garlands, and a second man in a maroon garment stands at the right edge holding a ritual vessel. Another visible strand of mala beads is on the right edge. The scene resembles a consecration or puja moment.

A seated figure in a red-and-orange robe with a white shawl and a long white garland holds an ornate silver trident upright at a home shrine during a pada pooja-style ritual. Fresh flower strands drape the shrine edge, and framed portraits and a deity figure sit on the altar. Shaved-headed attendants in orange and white with white forehead markings sit around, one with hands joined and one offering a tray of fruit. Bananas, apples, oranges and a bowl of flower petals rest on the floor in front of a seated woman with flowers in her hair and a shaved-headed man in orange. Four bowls of offerings and a shelf of books and a radio complete the room.

A photograph of a home padapuja during a house visit. A seated figure in a dark red-brown robe with an orange shawl, wearing a large red and white flower garland, a white tilak on the forehead, a hair bun and gold armbands, holds a long silver ceremonial staff raised over a group. Around him, seated devotees with folded hands include a woman in a magenta sari, a man in white dhoti and shirt, a woman in an orange sari with a rudraksha mala, a young woman in orange, and an elderly woman in a red sari. A puja tray with flowers, a lit oil lamp and fruit sits on the floor. A cameraman in orange stands in the doorway. Shelves behind hold small deity figurines.

A seated figure on an ornate silver-backed chair holds a silver trident aloft and wears a white flower garland over a rust-red and brown robe with a rudraksha mala. Their bare feet rest on a silver plate of flower petals while a devotee in white washes or honours them. Around them, several seated devotees in white and red garments, a woman in maroon sari and a woman in red blouse, watch attentively. A tray of red fruit and a shelf with small framed photos and a deity figurine sit in the background beside red-and-yellow striped curtains. The scene resembles a padapuja honouring a teacher, a person: the seated central figure has long swept-back hair, rudraksha mala and ceremonial garland.
