Night photo of a procession at an ashram, with people in white dhotis and shirts walking along a sandy path past a whitewashed building edged with red and white stripes. Strings of coloured lights decorate the building and the lit sign above the doorway. Several men wear orange shawls over white clothing, and a child in white stands near the front. Some people raise their arms. A figure in the middle wears an orange shawl and white garments, but the visible cues are not distinctive enough to confirm any identity, so the candidate remains uncertain. Festive lighting marks the evening Navaratri celebration.

A night-time outdoor photograph of a long, unbroken line of devotees in plain white traditional clothing, many women in white saris and men in white dhotis and shirts, holding hands in a chain that stretches across a stone-paved courtyard. Some women wear red or maroon borders, one wears a blue-and-white sari, and several wear name badges on their clothing. Strings of blue fairy lights and a green illuminated pillar appear in the dark background behind trees. Only the people in the foreground chain are clearly visible; the line extends beyond the frame, so the count is approximate.

Night photograph of a festive celebration at a whitewashed temple-like building strung with warm fairy lights in orange, green and red. Many people in white and pastel clothes move across a sandy courtyard holding lit sparklers that streak bright white light. The entrance is glowing and decorated with framed illuminated figures of standing deities. In the foreground a stone or metal lamp-like object sits near the lower edge. Several dozen people are visible, the majority dressed in white kurtas and saris, with a few in red and orange garments.

Night photograph of a large outdoor gathering on sandy ground beneath a white tent canopy with small lights and orange and red paper decorations strung along the roof. Many devotees dressed in white clothes, including women in white and cream saris with gold borders and men in white kurtas and dhotis, stand in loose groups and some raise their hands. Some wear dark trousers and shirts, and a few women wear pink, teal and purple saris. Devotees in the background are gathered near a lit shrine area. The scene suggests a procession or ritual gathering at night.

A night-time outdoor procession at a temple or ashram ground lit by strings of coloured fairy lights along the edges. Dozens of people in white dhotis and white shirts or sarees walk and dance across a dusty open ground, with a few women in orange and red saris among them. Some younger boys in white clothes stand in the foreground. In the distance, bright lamps illuminate a decorated structure. The mood is festive and devotional, consistent with a Mahashivaratri procession.

Night photograph of a large outdoor gathering on a dirt ground, with a crowd of devotees dressed mostly in white dhotis and white shirts, many in lively movement and dancing in circles or lines. Strings of multicoloured fairy lights, purple and green, run along the perimeter and along a wall, and a lit stage or platform with bright lights stands in the distant background. Several people in the foreground wear red or orange shawls.
