Exterior view of the Tiruchendur Subramaniya Swami temple gopuram and ornate white stone facade, its tiers crowded with sculpted deities and figures against a pale sky. Massive granite pillars support a covered walkway where a few devotees in saris and a man in white walk past, and a small child in pink stands near an entrance. A green-and-white signboard and blue doorway line the right side, with a painted deity image on a blue board beside the pillars. A banner across the gateway reads Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam Sri Kamakshi Ambal, with Tamil text above it. Beneath the gate, a crowd in white and saffron moves out; in front, a man in an orange turban and saffron wrap over a magenta shawl, with rudraksha beads, stands at centre. Nearby a woman in white with an orange shawl holds an object, a man in white and orange walks beside, and another man in orange stands to the right. A portrait banner hangs inside the gateway. A banner across the entrance reads in Tamil and English that this is the Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam Sri Kamakshi Ambal temple, Mokshapuri Kanchi Divya Kshetram. Below, several people walk out of the dark-grey stone doorway: a bearded older man in white with a red-and-gold shawl and a tilak on his forehead in the foreground, a man in an orange-saffron robe with a pink shawl and rudraksha mala near the centre, a woman in white and orange, and men in white shirts and dhotis. A printed portrait of a bearded man stands beside the entrance. Pink sculpted guardian figures flank the doorway.2006-11-24A tall, ornately carved stone gopuram temple tower dominates the frame, its tiers covered in sculpted figures and niches with a row of finials along the top, rising in front of a pale hazy sky. Crowds of people in mostly white, cream and red-orange clothing walk and gather in the open courtyard in front of the entrance, some carrying bags. Trees with green foliage and a flowering red-orange tree frame the left and right edges, with market stalls and street lamps visible at the edges and a low wall with rounded battlement-like tops running across the scene.2008-05-04November 24 20062006-11-24November 24 20062006-11-24Exterior view of a large Hindu temple gopuram, the tall pyramidal tower covered in white-painted sculpted figures and tiers, rising above a pillared stone mandapam.
