Photo of a carved, tiered gopuram temple tower of the Kanchi Kamakshi Ambal temple, its pale stone covered in sculpted figures, with a blue sky behind. A banner across the gateway reads Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam Sri Kamakshi Ambal, with Tamil text above it. Beneath the gate, a crowd in white and saffron moves out; in front, a man in an orange turban and saffron wrap over a magenta shawl, with rudraksha beads, stands at centre. Nearby a woman in white with an orange shawl holds an object, a man in white and orange walks beside, and another man in orange stands to the right. A portrait banner hangs inside the gateway. A printed banner over the entrance reads in Tamil and English 'Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam Sri Kamakshi Ambal' and 'Mokshapuri Kanchi Divya Kshetram'. A dark car occupies the foreground. Inside it, a man in a white shirt drives, and beside him a smiling person in saffron/orange robes with a rudraksha mala and a red headband sits in the passenger seat; the ochre-robed figure is a probable Swamiji candidate, with long hair and orange clothing as cues. Several men in white shirts and white dhotis stand outside the car near the temple gate.2006-11-24November 24 20062006-11-24November 24 20062006-11-24November 24 20062006-11-24Photo of the ornately carved white gopuram of Arunachaleshwara Temple in Tiruvannamalai, seen from below through a dark stone gateway. Several figures stand at the entrance: a man in white dress shirt and dhoti on the left, a bald man in an orange robe in the centre-left, and a long-haired man in a saffron-orange robe with a white garland at the centre-right, who appears to be holding hands with the bald man. Two more men in white and a figure in a lighter shirt are partly visible at the frame edges. Overhead, power lines cross the sky. A dark plaque is mounted on the gateway wall to the right.2006-12-04August 06 20092009-08-06September 12 20122012-09-12
