Outdoor ritual under a large banyan tree with thick aerial roots. A shirtless man in an orange saffron wrap and an orange head turban sits on a small red-cushioned wooden stool, raising a lit oil lamp with one hand while holding a brass bell in the other. A brass tray with brass vessels, flowers and a small plate sits on the ground in front, beside a heap of rounded rocks. Behind him, about twenty men, women and children sit or stand in white, cream, yellow, pink and grey saris and dhotis, many with hands pressed together in prayer. Dust and incense haze hang in the air. This is a puja scene with an oil lamp, bell and offering tray under a banyan tree.

Outdoor ritual gathering beneath a large banyan tree with sprawling aerial roots. A man with long dark hair in an orange robe sits cross-legged before a low brick fire pit, seemingly conducting a homa or yagna, while white-clad priests and devotees sit around it. To the right, a draped orange-cloth seat sits beneath a tall ornate red and gold parasol, with a trident and a brass kalasha-style lamp beside it. Many devotees, mostly in white with some in blue and orange, sit on the ground in rows, several with long braids. A video camera on a tripod films the proceedings from the left, and a canopy of trees shades the scene.

Outdoor ritual photograph beneath a large banyan tree with thick hanging aerial roots. A bare-chested man in an orange saffron wrap and orange head turban sits on a low red-cushioned seat, raising a small object in his right hand while a brass tray with an oil lamp and flame sits before him on the earth. Around him, a dense crowd of devotees sits or stands, many men and women in white clothing, some with palms joined in prayer, a girl in an orange-and-white patterned dress and a young girl in white seated at right. Rounded rocks are piled along the right edge, with flower petals scattered on them. Behind, women in white and pastel saris stand with hands folded.

Outdoor photo of a Guru Poornima gathering beneath a large spreading banyan tree with aerial roots. A raised wooden platform holds a seat draped in saffron-orange cloth with a red-and-gold canopy overhead, a ceremonial staff and a flower-decked dais beside it. Several figures in saffron robes sit near a brass oil lamp and ritual vessels on wooden blocks, with smoke rising. Dozens of devotees in white clothing sit on the ground in rows, some women in white saris with blue borders. A garlanded rock and a carved black serpent form lie at the front right. No individual on the saffron seat can be confirmed from appearance, so the seated figure is described by role only.
