At the centre of the altar, a seated figure in orange robes is flanked by ornate golden deity murti and a bull statue. Many men in white dhoti and shawls, some bare-chested with sacred threads, sit in rows, with others in orange and red garments. Camera operators on tripods film the proceedings, and a screen above the altar shows a picture. Near the right wall, a large decorated kalasha or shrine piece stands beside a seated devotee. The scene suggests a satsang or puja in an ashram hall.2017-12-02A large hall during an evening Karthigai Deepam gathering, with many lamps lit on the stage and dense rows of seated devotees facing away from the camera.
