A large crowd of devotees sits on the floor of a hall facing a lit altar decorated with golden and red drapery and strings of lights. At the centre of the altar, a seated figure in orange robes is flanked by ornate golden deity murti and a bull statue. Many men in white dhoti and shawls, some bare-chested with sacred threads, sit in rows, with others in orange and red garments. Camera operators on tripods film the proceedings, and a screen above the altar shows a picture. Near the right wall, a large decorated kalasha or shrine piece stands beside a seated devotee. The scene suggests a satsang or puja in an ashram hall.2017-12-02December 02 20172017-12-02A large indoor hall filled with seated devotees in white dhotis and white saris, most shown from behind, with many bare-backed men wearing sacred threads. A row of ornate golden stanchions runs down the centre aisle toward a stage decorated with flowers, marigold garlands and purple lighting, where robed figures sit before a golden ritual setup with a kalasha and umbrellas. Several large screens flank the stage. Children sit among the devotees, and small brass lamps and offering plates lie on the floor in front. The scene reads as a satsang or puja gathering in an ashram hall. No candidate for a person is clearly identifiable from appearance.2017-07-09December 02 20172017-12-02Photograph of a large hall where rows of devotees sit on the floor with their backs to the camera, many bare-chested, wearing white dhotis with gold borders and sacred thread, some with rudraksha malas and white and sandalwood markings on their backs. Video cameras on tripods face the stage, and a few people in orange and saffron robes sit among the crowd. Small oil lamps and offering plates are set on the floor in front of the seated devotees. The scene suggests a satsang or discourse session.2017-11-08Wide view of a large hall filled with hundreds of seated men in white dhotis, many bare-chested with white sacred threads across their shoulders, sitting on the floor facing a stage at the far end.
