At left, a priest in white dhoti with a gold-bordered shawl stands beside a gold-trimmed palanquin-like cart holding a brass tray with flowers, fruit and a lit oil lamp, while a man in a red-and-white checked shirt raises a lamp. Greenery and a pink flowering shrub stand by the building.

Several monastics in saffron robes and devotees in white clothes, including women in white sarees, stand around a lit oil lamp or aarti flame; a brass kalasha vessel sits at lower right. A striped canopy umbrella and hanging decorations appear at upper left, and petals or flowers fall through the air. A young woman in yellow shawl at left has her hands joined. Lights illuminate the courtyard and a white building wall behind the crowd.

Many women wear orange, yellow, white and cream saris or kurtas, some with orange shawls and forehead markings. A young man in white on the right holds a video camera up to film. Behind them stand grey stone deity statues and a small shrine with a black stone murti garlanded with marigold and yellow flower garlands. A tall white-clad figure with folded arms stands near the back. Pillars and string lights are visible in the background.

In the foreground a man with long dark hair, wearing an orange-saffron cloth with gold border and a gold-beaded necklace, stands with palms pressed together in namaste. Beside him are several men in orange robes with rudraksha-style garlands, also with hands folded. On the right a man in white dhoti and shawl with a red border holds a lit aarti lamp with flame and is accompanied by people in white. A brass plate with flowers lies at lower left.
