A very dark, heavily underexposed photograph of a doorway or entrance. A bright stone-block staircase or courtyard is visible at left, with a pole or umbrella-like structure and a dark silhouette of a figure at the left edge. A small white-clad figure sits or stands on the lit ground near the threshold. A faint orange-brown fabric shape is visible on a standing figure in the dark centre. Most of the frame is black.Interior of a stone temple hall with dark carved granite pillars and richly sculpted walls. A golden brass pillar or kodimaram stands on the right, and a small brass or copper figure of a bull (Nandi) sits on a raised stone pedestal, draped with a white and pink flower garland. A small oil lamp burns on a stone ledge in the centre, and a polished silver kalasha-like finial with spikes is in the foreground. A carved stone figure with multiple arms stands on the left. No people are visible.2012-05-20 +1 copiesA photograph inside a stone-walled workshop corridor where painted deity sculptures are being prepared. In the foreground, a large painted figure with a crown, gold armour, and a green-and-gold base stands beside a red-and-orange figure with multiple arms and a dark crown. Further back, more painted statues and blue-topped work tables are visible. Two tall dark stone guardian statues in long robes stand flanking the shrine on either side. No people are visible.July 08 20122012-07-08Dim interior of an old stone temple hall with weathered carved pillars and a dark wooden ceiling beam. A close-up of a carved stone pillar bracket stands at right, with a folded green-and-yellow cloth draped over a pillar base and a small bright object at the bottom. No people are visible; the scene shows architectural detail and aged carved stone in shadowy hall.2009-07-14A carved grey stone sculpture of a female figure stands on a pedestal inside a temple hall with wooden ceiling beams and stone pillars. The apsara-like figure wears an ornate headdress, layered jewellery and a flowing skirt, holding a musical instrument and a small object. Devotees' heads are visible at the lower edge of the frame, and a stone carved panel and painted red and green architectural trim appear at the right. This is a sculpture, not a living person, and no visible person matches the presentation cues for a person.2008-07-29Dark night photograph of a large dark stone or wooden deity murti with multiple raised arms, partly silhouetted against a black background. A thin wisp of smoke or incense rises from the centre of the figure, and a long trident-like staff is held diagonally across the lower frame. Green foliage is visible at the upper left and a warmly lit doorway or window glows behind the figure at the right. Some small dark shapes at the lower right edge may be a person, but they are barely visible.2010-11-19A dark stone sculpture of a multi-armed deity stands on a raised black plinth inside a temple corridor, with warm light falling from the right and carved pillars behind it. The figure wears a tall, conical crown and an ornate waist garment, and several arms are raised holding objects. Carved reliefs and a wall recess frame the murti. No people are visible; this is a deity murti in a temple setting, not a depiction of a person.2012-09-11 +1 copiesFebruary 08 20122012-02-08
