On the left, a figure in a saffron-orange robe with a long dark hair and a white-and-multicoloured flower garland walks barefoot across the polished floor, smiling toward a dark stone deity murti standing on a plinth, draped in a red-and-gold sari-like garment with a green curtain hanging beside it. A gold-coloured elephant trunk shape rises near the frame. Through a doorway on the right, a small lamp stand and a red-and-gold object sit on a yellow-banded platform. Ornate white carved pillars and a wall clock complete the setting.2006-09-26Interior of a white marble temple hall with a homa fire pit built of stacked bricks at the centre, holding burning wood and offerings. Two priests in white dhotis sit cross-legged on the floor; the nearer one wears a yellow shawl and the farther one, in white, holds a lit flame aloft. Brass plates of fruit, bananas, sweets and flowers are arranged on the floor in front. Behind them stand two orange-clad deity statues flanking a shrine with a decorated deity murti. On the right, a wooden sofa beneath a framed portrait garlanded with red and white flower strands, the portrait showing a figure with long hair wearing beaded necklaces; that figure appears only as a printed portrait.September 12 20112011-09-12 +2 copiesJune 19 20142014-06-19
