June 30 20102010-06-30A man stands barefoot on a raised white platform beside a large banyan tree with many aerial roots, pressing his forehead against the trunk in reverence. He wears a white dhoti and a white upper cloth with a gold border, a bracelet on one wrist, and his hair is tied back. Garlands of marigolds and red flowers hang on the trunk. A blue sign reads NOT ENTER THE CAVE beside the platform. A small offering of flowers and lamps sits on a white ledge behind him, with red-brown earth and green trees around. Appearance-based cues are insufficient for a confident identification of the central figure, so he is described by role as a devotee at the tree.2012-04-09April 15 20122012-04-15A large banyan tree with many hanging aerial roots and a dark cave opening at its base, set on a raised stone platform.
