A person in a red garment and a hand holding the vessel are visible at the upper left, with red and gold fabric blurred in the background. Only the hand and lower body are visible, no face shown. Brass ritual fittings sit at the lower right.2017-01-08February 24 20172017-02-24January 08 20122012-01-08A golden-bronze standing deity murti, a young boy-form figure with hands in abhaya-like gesture, is being bathed in a stream of liquid poured from a large golden kalasha held by a bare-chested priest in an orange dhoti on the right edge. The murti stands on a tiered pedestal beside an ornately carved golden gateway or pillar, with liquid splashing across its body and base. In the blurred background, many people in orange and white clothing sit in rows. The priest has white sacred markings on his arm.2017-02-26A golden statue of a bare-chested sage stands on a stone platform while a hand pours water from a brass pot over its head, water streaming down the face and chest. The statue wears a draped cloth at the waist and raises one hand in a blessing gesture. Behind it, purple and gold drapery and a garland of yellow and purple flowers frame a deity murti or altar, with a saffron-clad figure partly visible. The scene suggests an abhishekam ritual. The pourer's arm shows a gold bangle and a ring, and the photo carries a person archive copyright overlay.2010-12-19February 24 20172017-02-24June 05 20122012-06-05A photograph of an abhishekam in progress. A standing figure in a gold-and-maroon patterned sari-style garment, with a red border, pours liquid from a silver vessel over a small gold-coloured standing statue of a male figure holding a hand in blessing, the liquid streaming down onto the statue. Behind are strings of marigolds and red-and-yellow flower garlands, and a dark ritual vessel and a gold kalasha sit at lower right. The figure pouring is partially visible and no face is shown; the statue is a deity murti, not a person.2017-02-24
