He wears a long gold-beaded necklace and a red bindi, and his long dark hair falls to his shoulders. Beside him stands a polished brass vessel with a spout. Behind him are an orange-painted stone pillar and dark stone sculptures of deities, with red-and-white banners and a flagpole visible. Pink floral kolam designs decorate the ground. The man is seated in meditation; the page indicates a person, but the appearance cues are sufficient only for a probable label.2010-11-12 +1 copiesNovember 12 20102010-11-12A man with long dark hair sits cross-legged in meditation on a low wooden seat placed over a circular stone-and-pebble bed decorated with pink flower petals. He wears a saffron-orange dhoti and matching upper wrap, with a long gold-toned mala necklace of beads and a flower garland around his neck, and his eyes are closed. A small brass vessel stands at the front edge of the circle. To the left, an orange-painted pillar or altar is hung with yellow and white flower garlands, and stone lamps or stupa-like forms stand in the background of a paved courtyard. The scene reads as a quiet meditation or puja setting. The sitter is shown in the photo with distinctive saffron clothing, long swept-back hair and ornate beads, consistent with the page's reference to Swamiji, and is identified by appearance only as a probable match.A man with long, swept-back dark hair sits cross-legged on an orange cushion placed on a low wooden seat, on a woven mat over a sandy-gravel ground. Behind him is a dark stone shivalinga-like murti with yellow and white flower garlands on an orange-red pedestal, with banana leaves and palm trunks in the background. He has long dark hair, a red tilak mark on his forehead, a dense gold bead mala with ornate gold chains, and gold bangles. A small brass vessel with a spout sits on the ground to his left. Behind him a man in white dhoti and shirt carries a drum with a strap, and orange-painted stone structures and a stone deity murti stand in the background among palm trees and shrubs. The probable Swamiji cues are the long swept-back hair, saffron robe, and ornate gold mala; the scene reads as a teaching or puja setting.2010-12-28July 20 20102010-07-20
