A roadside photograph of a procession gathering on a tree-lined urban street. In the foreground, a row of women in white saris with gold or coloured borders stand with palms pressed together in namaskar, several wearing rudraksha-style beaded necklaces; one wears an orange-and-white sari. Behind them, men in white shirts and white dhotis stand on the pavement, some with hands folded, one holding a cloth bag. Uniformed police officers, one with a cap and one in khaki, stand near a white police car with a blue beacon. Traffic, parked scooters and pedestrians fill the background. No deity murti, a person candidate or ratha is clearly visible in this frame. Approximately 20 physical people are visible.

A photograph of a group of women walking in a procession along a paved road lined with trees, with vehicles and a small building behind them. The foreground women wear white saris with orange or red shawls draped over their shoulders and rudraksha beads around their necks, and several hold white papers. Behind them other women in cream, white and green saris walk in the same direction, and at right an older man in a white shirt and white dhoti walks barefoot beside an orange-shawled participant. The scene appears to be an ashram-style walking procession.

A photograph of a street scene in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, where a crowd of devotees stands with palms pressed together in namaskar as a procession is expected to pass. Several women in sarees, including white with gold border, blue and pink, stand in front, while men in white kurta and shirts stand behind them; one man on the left wears a rudraksha-style mala and holds a camera. Behind the crowd is a temple gateway with a painted blue wall showing a deity figure, and a parked silver car lines the street. No swami is clearly visible among the people.

A dirt path lined with devotees in white ritual clothes forms a procession at an ashram. Men in white shirts and dhotis stand with palms pressed together in anjali, and women in white sarees with orange or saffron borders stand alongside them. Several men hold saffron-orange flags with a blue emblem. Palm fronds frame the scene on both sides, and a thatched-roof hall with terracotta walls stands in the background. Further along the path, musicians and other participants in white and orange are visible.

A rainy outdoor scene of a crowd gathered on a wet road beneath trees. In the foreground a man in white with an orange-saffron shawl stands facing a group of women in sarees, one holding a lit oil lamp or fire aloft while others stand with hands clasped in prayer. Behind them many men and women in white and colourful clothes, some under black and red umbrellas, stand along the roadside, with uniformed police visible. A white vehicle is parked at the right edge. The priest's shawl is orange and the women wear yellow, green, pink and blue sarees.

A photograph of devotees standing outdoors in prayer with palms pressed together at the chest and eyes closed. Most wear white clothing: women in white sarees with gold borders, men in white dhotis and shirts, many with rudraksha malas around their necks. A woman in the foreground has a white vibhuti mark and red kumkum on her forehead and holds her hands in anjali. Behind them are laundry lines with coloured cloth and a white building wall. The scene suggests a devotional gathering during pada-puja or annadhan, though no a person is visible.
