A decorated Ganesha murti, the elephant-headed deity, is seated frontally against a gold and cream draped cloth backdrop. The image is framed by red roses and yellow and white marigold garlands. The deity wears a maroon turban topped with a jeweled crown and a bindi-style forehead ornament, a purple silk garment, layered gold and white jeweled necklaces and a lotus-shaped pendant. Its trunk curls toward the centre, and the raised hand holds an object. The murti is a statue, not a living person, and no physical people are visible.2016-12-18August 28 20142014-08-28November 04 20132013-11-04Photo 11699428A photograph of a Ganesha murti, the elephant-headed deity, decorated for a festival.
