The image is framed by red roses and yellow and white marigold garlands. The deity wears a maroon turban topped with a jeweled crown and a bindi-style forehead ornament, a purple silk garment, layered gold and white jeweled necklaces and a lotus-shaped pendant. Its trunk curls toward the centre, and the raised hand holds an object. The murti is a statue, not a living person, and no physical people are visible.2016-12-18December 23 20162016-12-23A photograph of a Ganesha deity murti decorated for worship. The elephant-headed figure is covered in silver and gold ornaments, jewelled earrings, a gold crown, and layered white jasmine and red-and-pink flower garlands. A red flower is tucked near the trunk, and the background is banked with green leaves and bright marigolds, red, yellow and purple blooms. A magenta cloth hangs at the top and a gold metal object sits at the upper left. No people are visible; the figure is a statue.2013-09-09September 11 20102010-09-11Photo 11691653
