A photograph of a deep, narrow trench dug into red-brown earth, with a freshly poured wet concrete floor running down its length. A man in a light beige short-sleeved shirt, dark shorts and a cap stands on the wet concrete near the middle, looking ahead. A wooden stick leans against the left trench wall, a red building and small shelter with red posts stand in the background, and green trees surround the site. No ritual, deity or a person is visible.2014-08-31A photograph of an outdoor construction site showing a shallow excavated drainage channel lined with loose grey stones and a thin layer of muddy water. A worker in a brown shirt and dark trousers stands in the trench near the centre, while another man in a white shirt and red head cloth crouches at the upper left on the dirt edge. A low stone wall with a green wire fence runs along the back, with dry scrubland and distant hills beyond. A blue hose lies along the bottom edge among scattered rocks and reddish soil.A photograph of an open drainage channel under construction on bare earth. Two workers are building a stone or brick retaining wall along the channel; one man in a white shirt and dark trousers stands on the edge with his hand on the wall, and a second worker in a pink top is bent over near the water at the far end. Loose grey stone slabs line the left side of the trench, and a pale plastered wall rises on the right behind a green wire fence with shrubs and trees beyond.2009-10-31A photograph of construction work at an outdoor site beside a whitewashed concrete-block wall. A man in a checked shirt, grey trousers and blue flip-flops bends over a bed of wet grey cement mixed with gravel, smoothing it with a long wooden-handled tool. Excavated reddish-brown earth surrounds a freshly poured concrete slab or path running diagonally across the lower left. A large heap of grey cut stone blocks and rough boulders sits to the right. A stone retaining wall lines the upper left, with green shrubs and a water channel behind it, and a calm pond with a stone edge in the upper right. A small agave-like plant grows near the wall. The edge of a white garment with an orange-red border appears at the far right edge, but no person is fully visible.2009-10-15A construction site photograph showing a shallow excavated trench with a concrete footing strip running through red-brown earth. Vertical rebar cages stand upright along the trench, with grey stone blocks placed on the ground. A single worker, wearing a light-coloured head covering and a yellow-and-green checked lungi, stands barefoot on the concrete strip, one hand raised to his head. Scattered rubble, green grass and a patch of blue tarpaulin are visible at the edges. No deity, ritual or a person depiction appears in the scene.2010-08-21A construction site photograph showing workers building a low wall of blue-grey dressed stone blocks bedded in mortar on excavated reddish-brown earth. A man in a striped light shirt and blue trousers, with a grey cloth tied on his head, leans over the wall and spreads mortar with a trowel. Beside him, a man in a white shirt and white dhoti stands with a cloth on his head, and at right a man in a light shirt and green lungi stands in sandals. Loose cut stones lie scattered across the ground, with metal basins and rubble behind them.2009-10-15A construction site beside a building with a red fabric draped over its upper wall and carved decorative panels along the base. A worker in a white shirt and red-and-white checked cloth bends over a trench lined with rough grey stones and red earth, placing stones along the edge. Another partly visible figure stands at the top right near piles of rubble, pipes and sand. Loose stones, a blue tarpaulin and metal fencing surround the work area.2014-11-18December 12 20062006-12-12December 19 20092009-12-19A photograph of ground-level construction work on bare red earth. A pile of grey crushed stone sits on the left. Three workers bend over the soil with hand tools: a man in a white shirt and white dhoti with an orange headcloth in the foreground holds a plastic container and a hoe, while another worker in a pale checked lungi and a person in a pink top work with spades or hoes behind him. A short concrete wall and a hose run along the top of the frame.2006-12-12
