A photograph of a priest in a rust-orange dhoti and shawl standing at left, his arms reaching into a richly decorated deity murti with a conical crown, a trident-like staff and layered gold necklaces. The murti is draped in flower garlands of red roses, orange marigolds, white blossoms and yellow chrysanthemums, with a smaller murti in a blue-green silk dress and a jewelled necklace beside it. Behind them stand a gold ornate frame and a maroon curtain. The priest is adjusting the garlands and ornaments as part of temple decoration. No other people are visible.2015-01-09A priest in an orange-red unstitched dhoti with a yellow and red flower garland stands at left, adjusting gold jewellery on deity murtis of a decorated shrine. Two ornate figures dominate: a standing deity with a tall white and gold crown, blue face and a trident-like staff, adorned with layered gold necklaces, flower garlands in red and yellow; beside it a smaller deity in a green and white garment with a blue jewelled chest piece and a white flower garland. Golden ornate arches and red, yellow and white marigold and rose garlands frame the scene. The metallic murti wears a tall white crown, gold necklaces and a jewelled face, and a second smaller murti beside it wears a blue and green embroidered garment and jewelled necklaces. Flower garlands in red, orange, yellow and white hang across the altar, and an ornate gold arch frames the scene against a maroon curtain. Vibhuti marks the priest's forehead. This appears to be a temple-style alankaram or decoration of deities.2015-01-09April 14 20182018-04-14 +1 copiesA man in a rust-orange (saffron-toned) sannyasi wrap and a yellow and red flower garland stands at left, smiling and touching a deity murti with both hands while holding a thin lit stick or offering near its ornamented face. The murti wears a tall jeweled crown, a large gold necklace, gemstone-studded armour-like ornaments and a green draped garment, and is surrounded by dense garlands of marigold, red roses and white flowers, typical of an abhishekam or alankara puja. Another ornate figure in a green skirt and leopard-print covered garment stands behind.2015-01-09A woman in an orange-red sari and gold bangles bends forward to touch a tall golden lingam with a silver-toned crown of cobra-like hoods, adorned with strands of white, yellow, red and purple flowers. Behind it, two golden deity murtis with crowns and jewellery sit on a richly decorated pedestal wrapped in red and multicoloured garlands. The scene appears to be a temple abhishekam or puja, with a gold-framed arch overhead.2015-01-04January 09 20152015-01-09January 13 20152015-01-13A photograph of a ritual scene in an ashram hall with pink walls. In the foreground a bare-chested man in an orange-brown dhoti with a gold waistband and red rudraksha mala garlands offers flowers or a fruit to a decorated deity murti seated on a gold throne. The murti wears an orange garment and a crown-like headdress, framed by a curved arch of garlands in purple, yellow, red, white and green. Orange and white flower garlands drape the throne, and a second man in white ritual clothes stands behind. A visible tilak marks the forehead of the standing man. The attendant's appearance does not clearly establish an identity, so the a person field is unsure.2013-05-25A man in a saffron-orange dhoti and orange shawl wearing a rudraksha mala and gold armlets stands at left with his right hand resting on the golden figure of a deity murti. The murti wears an orange turban-style crown and gold jewellery with white flower garlands. Behind them are red flowers and a green cloth backdrop beneath a gold ornate arch.
